In October 2005 Jõhvi became the home of Estonia’s newest concert hall, a multifunctional performing arts venue ideally equipped for various occasions (architects Ra Luhse, Tanel Tuhal, acoustics Linda Madalik). Today Jõhvi Concert Hall is the cultural heart of the city hosting a broad spectrum of events that include classical music, ballet, theatre, musicals, children’s shows and pop concerts. Furnished with state-of-the art technical equipment the venue offers the best conference facilities (2 large auditoria and 4 smaller seminar rooms) in the region with catering for various occasions.
The main auditorium (seating 926) is a versatile space, with alternate stage configurations and different capacities. The chamber hall (seating 170) is an intimate auditorium ideal for chamber music concerts, seminars, recitals, and more. In addition, the chamber hall is also suitable for cinema screenings.
During the concert season, from autumn to spring, Jõhvi Concert Hall hosts on average two concerts a week. In summer we organize concerts at other beautiful locations across Ida-Viru county, mainly in churches and manors. Our traditional „7 Towns Music Festival” takes place from 11th to 18th July.
In 2008 we started a new tradition – Jõhvi Ballet Festival, and we await ballet enthusiasts again in March 2009.
